Dromana to Arthurs Seat
This, the first section of the Two Bays Walking Track, has two possible starting points. The longer route starts opposite the Anthonys Nose boat ramp where a set of steep stairs leads through La Trobe Reserve, a unique remnant of Mornington Peninsula bush in this highly settled area, to Latrobe Parade. Follow Latrobe Parade up the hill, passing the Heronswood heritage gardens on the left, cross the freeway and continue to the start of the Bunerong Track. Aternatively you can leave your car in the car park at the start of the Bunerong Track and commence your walk as the trail enters the State Park.
The track climbs along the front face of Arthurs Seat through open forest and low grassy woodlands. You will find spectacular views of the Mornington Peninsula, Port Phillip Bay and the distant buildings of Melbourne along the way. Towards the summit of Arthurs Seat the track reaches a junction with a sub branch which leads up to and through the beautiful Seawinds Gardens. Continue on to the summit of Authurs Seat along the signposted Arthurs Seat Circuit Walk.
This is a medium to difficult hike, 4 to 5 kilometres long depending on start and end points, some of the hills are quite steep and require a reasonable level of fitness to complete the climb.
